Feature subset selection and multi-sensor fusion techniques for affect recognition and image texture analysis
The fellowship program aims at studying subset feature selection techniques. In particular, themes of interest are:
The work to be conducted by the fellow will contribute to workpackages 5 (Content-based description), 6 (Cross-modal integration), and 8 (Machine learning for multimedia content). In particular the research theme fits the objectives of Grand Challenge #2 (Detecting and interpreting humans and human behaviour in videos) with application to registration of emotion or affect. Contributions are also foreseen to the Intermediate Challenge 2 (Cross-integration and -interaction of multimodal data and data-streams) and in particular to treating the problem of emotion recognition from the point of view of multimodal sensor networks.
